Hello friends!
I’m currently on the hunt for work, (aren’t we all?) and since I can’t spend eight hours a day crafting beautiful cover letters and/or infographics that demonstrate why I’m TEH Best Grafic Deziner EV-AR™, I’m trying to learn a little about: du-duh, du-dah! JAVASCRIPT.
It’s a little cray-cray. Even more so when you start hunting around for tutorials and intro books online and every single one of them starts off with some variation of, “Javascript is a programming language preferred by designers because it uses a very simple syntax.” or “Javascript is easy to learn. You will enjoy it.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ad infinitum. (That second one comes directly from W3Schools , no joke)
I have a passing acquaintance with HTML/CSS, I enjoy HTML/CSS when I’m working with it. I even thought that the one Intro to Web course I took a few years ago didn’t have enough hand-coding in HTML/CSS for my taste. But Javascript, WTFBBQ? as the kids are wont to say these days. It’s testing my brain-jello, For. Sure. But making these pretty little coding pictures is good practice, even if I’m not getting everything right the first time around.
Oh, and if you want to join me on my odyssey into the dark wilds of coding, I’m using CodeAcademy.com - it’s free!

Confusing………….seriously…..okay, yes! Keep your artistic self out there!
